‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
Anne Hathaway revealed that Meryl Streep made a different choice on The Devil Wears Prada 2 set, sharing at the New York premiere that while Streep stayed in character during the 2006 film, she chose not to use method acting this time.
Anne Hathaway recalled that for The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep made a “huge sacrifice” by stepping away from her usual on-set socializing, believing it helped the cast stay sharper and more focused.
However, for the sequel, Streep took a more relaxed approach, telling her co-stars, “You guys can do it yourselves,” as she opted not to stay in character in the same way.
Hathaway also said she tried not to let pressure get to her ahead of the sequel, noting there was expectation but comfort in reuniting with the original team.
